            ARTAS utilizes Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This is a type of hair harvesting technique. FUE provides a natural look, while it minimizes recovery time and scarring. When a surgeon performs this technique without ARTAS, there is room for error. For instance, some of the extracted hair and the supportive tissue could be damaged during the process by the human hand. The ARTAS system performs this technique more accurately and with micron precision. As a result, the robotic system extracts more hair, without damaging the follicles, and in less time.             ARTAS begins the process by digitally scanning the patients head. It identifies the distance between hair groupings and the location of the best hairs for transplantation. The system recalculates hair angles to 50 times per second providing an accurate harvest of healthy and high quality hair follicles. The physician then transplants the hair into the desired areas. The area where the donor hair was extracted will maintain its natural look with no linear scarring. In about six months, the transplanted hair will create noticeable, permanent, and thicker hair growth.
