The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System at PAI uses specialized cameras and digital mapping to analyze
the patient’s follicle direction and angle. The computerized system tracks all of the follicular units on the patient’s head and tracks patient movement. It eliminates certain variables to ensure the most accurate harvesting. Lastly, the intuitive controls allow the physician to modify precision depth if needed.
The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System meets both CE and FDA standards. It possesses a force censor that constantly monitors the amount of force exerted by the needle onto the patient’s donor area. There are touch-sensitive sensors that automatically back the machine’s arm away from the patient when triggered. The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System recognizes patient movement and pauses until the physician is ready to proceed. In addition, the needles have markings on them to indicate incision depth.
Decreased Scarring
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a procedure whereby a strip of scalp is excised from the patient and transplanted. The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System utilizes a system that is much less invasive and produces little to no scarring.
The healing process associated with The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System is much shorter too. The donor area may heal in as short as 7 to 10 days, while it can take up to 3 weeks to heal from an FUT procedure.
Fewer Treatments
The robotic assistance with The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System increases productivity rates as much as 3 times. For example, a physician performing an FUE procedure by hand can extract 200 to 300 grafts in an hour. With The ARTAS® Robotic FUE System, one can extract 500 to 1000 grafts in an hour. This may allow most physicians to complete the procedure in one sitting compared to multiple treatments with traditional techniques.
